Good afternoon, my name is Jack Prokott, and it is my pleasure to represent the State of Maycomb and to serve as a prosecutor on this very important case. On August 26, 193,6 the defendant in this matter is Mayella Ewell lying under oath.
THE THEME AND THEORY
Ladies and Gentleman this case is about Mayella Ewell lying under oath in court. Mayella feels guilty after lying under oath in court. Mayella lied about Tom Robinson raping her because she doesn't want her dad to beat her up if she tells the truth.
PARTIES

Mayella said ¨ So he come in the yard´an I went into the house to get the nickel and I turned around an fore I knew it he was on me¨(Lee 205). This evidence shows Mayella is guilty because Tom was helping her with the thing she asked him to do and he didn't jump on her. Mayella also said ¨ He got me around the neck cussin me an sayin´ dirt- I fough´n´hollered but he had me around the neck¨ (Lee 205). This evidence shows Mayella is guilty because Tom is crippled in his left arm and Mayella said she fought back but if she did she could have gotten away because he only has one arm. Mayella again said ¨ Reckon I did, hollered for all I was worth, kicked and hollered loud as I could¨ (Lee 205). This evidence shows Mayella is guilty because again if she had fought back and kicked she could have gotten away and Tom wouldn't have been able to beat her up. Then Atticus asked Mayella ¨ You were screaming all this time?¨ Mayella replied ¨ I certainly was.¨ Atticus then said ¨Then why didn't the other children hear you? Where were they?¨ Mayella never replied back and said nothing back to Atticus. This evidence shows that Mayella didn´t scream as loud as she could because if she did the children would have heard her and they would have checked to see what it was or tell someone they heard a scream coming from the Ewell
