Morality is something that is key to living a good life and setting a good example for yourself as a whole. In the book To Kill a Mockingbird written by Harper Lee, readers are shown a good example of morality from the character Atticus Finch. What readers can learn from Atticus is that he sets a good example for his children Jem and Scout and also a good example for the people reading To Kill a Mockingbird. Some of the things that he says and does are great things to remember when making a tough decision. Morality is something that we need more of in this world.

Morality is knowing the difference between right and wrong and good and bad behavior. An example of morality would be knowing the right thing to do in a situation that could be “choose to go hang out with friends and vandalize or stay home and not hang out.” Those are the type of situations that people need to know make the right decision. All throughout the book we see how Atticus has a moral approach to pretty much everything he is involved in. In the book when Atticus has the choice of defending a black man, Tom Robinson or staying on the side of his neighbors, The Ewells, his decision is to stay true to his job and decides to defend Tom Robinson. All throughout the court case Atticus has a moral mindset to prove what really happened even if it resulted in a loss. This ended up happening later on when the final decision by the jury came through. Later on he gets Scout and Jem rifles for Christmas and tells them that not to shoot a mockingbird because they do nothing wrong to people, this shows good moral
