In the book Tom Robinson’s trial is decided by the jury's prejudice towards black people . “Judge Taylor was polling the jury: Guilty… guilty… guilty… guilty pg 211” The case was decided by Tom’s race he was clearly innocent but he was still guilty because the jury thinks that just because he is black he is guilty.

The prejudice of maycomb There is a kid in my high school who everyone thinks is a bit of an out cast and people think he is a bit crazy. A lot of the people judge him without even meeting him because of something that he did when he was younger. So a lot of people form a opinion of him before he meets him and have some prejudice against him. This connects to one of the characters in the book named Boo Radley he messed up when he was younger then rumors spread. Thanks to the rumors the whole town had a bad opinion of him before they ever even got a chance talk to him to get his perspective.

He was accused of rape by a white woman by the name of Mayella Ewell and her family; The Ewells. The Ewells were a very unpopular family in the town of Maycomb, Alabama. They lived in the town dump and had some weird advantages, the kids didn’t have to go to school, and they could hunt out of the hunting season. The man being accused, Tom Robinson, was a neighbor of the Ewells with his wife, his 3 children, his Father, and his Mother.
