In The Simpson's movie, Homer did a terrible stunt that caused the city of Springfield to be the most polluted city in America. He was supposed to throw out his pet pig's silo properly, but instead he dumped it into the lake which caused Springfield to be the most polluted city. In this movie, I do believe that there is some political satire because when Russ Cargill of the EPA went to Arnold Schwarzenegger he gave him five folders that has a result of what happens to Springfield, Schwarzenegger just randomly says "I choose number 3". In this case, he blindly chose a file, and the whole entire city of Springfield was domed and almost killed due to his blind choosing. It also target a specific individual because I do believe that they are calling Arnold Schwarzenegger stupid. Another technique that was used in this scene was irony, I found it ironic how the government really didn't make the choice, it was Russ Cargill who influenced him to do so. It is ironic because the government has authority to make decisions but yet he wasn't the one to really choose it. Russ Cargill took advantage of Schwarzenegger's stupidity and made him choose the worse folder which was to trap Springfield. There were also many other satire's portrayed in this movie, another example would be pollution. The Simpsons are full of satire, in which that makes them a very successful TV show for the last two decades. They used pollution as satire.
