When we first met Ebenizer Scrooge In “A Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens, he was an old man who was lonely and owned a counting house. The year was 1843 in London, England. He was a very mean and rotten old man who thought all “poor people should die and decrease the surplus population.” Since he was so mean and cruel, three spirits paid him a visit.
