The heartfelt quote “Under love's heavy burden do I sink” (1.4. 22); shows the love Romeo possesses in his heart exclusive to Juliet, his lifelong love. As Juliet returns the same amount of love for him, they each take the phrase of dying for one another to a literal level. The most trustworthy being in this book would be Friar Lawrence who has given the trust of the two lovers Romeo and Juliet. A family altercation occurs between the Montague family and the Capulet family many times in the within a week. In Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare develops his characters through his own desire of secrecy. In addition, secrecy is the leading matter in this romance between the two main characters. The secret that the book is mainly about is the hidden love Romeo and Juliet have for each other. Romeo and Juliet’s lives are at stake for their relationship; the reason being how they are from two families who will oppose of their actions. In The scene of Capulet demand that Juliet must marry Paris or be, disowned Juliet cannot choose who her only husband can be. In the quote “But Fettle your fine Joints ‘gainst Thursday next/ to go with Paris to Saint Peter's church, / or I will drag thee on a hurdle thither. / Out, you green-sickness carrion! Out, you baggage! / You tallow face!” (3.5.153-57). This goes to show that Juliet is being forced by her own father to marry a man she hates with all her heart. After her father yells this through the rooftops, Juliet claims she would rather marry her ‘enemy’ Romeo than Paris, which she hoped, would change his mind, but only causing him to be even more furious than before. In the end, Juliet had no choice but to kill herself because she had to chance against her father to win the argument nor would she give up her secret she and Romeo
