I chose the restaurant, Chickie’s and Pete’s, to be the servicescape I evaluate. I went on a Wednesday afternoon, at about 2:45 p.m.. Accompanying me, were my boyfriend and another couple. We wanted to have a nice lunch and none of us have been there yet, so we decided to check it out. Chickie’s and Pete’s is an elaborate interpersonal service. This restaurant is located on Rowan Boulevard in Glassboro. Chickie’s and Pete’s is a sports-bar chain. They are mainly known for their “Crab Fries,” which are fries with crab spices sprinkled, served with a cheese sauce. Featured in the facility exterior of the restaurant is a fire pit with benches around it. The music was part of the ambient conditions dimension. The music was very loud. When the waitress first came over she was shouting to speak to my friends and I. Also, in order to speak to your friends you had to shout. The music caused an impaired interaction between myself and my friends, but also with the waitress. My response because of the environment was negative. I would have probably ordered something different or even ordered more, but I was not able to focus on the menu and check out the options. My mood went from being happy and excited to see friends, to being annoyed because to hear someone you had to be loud. We would have also probably stayed longer, but it was hard to hear so we left once we paid the bill. Since it was only 2:45 p.m., I feel like the music should not have been that loud. I have now perceived this place as a place to go hang out with your friends and sit at the bar. I would not recommend it to someone who wants to have a nice lunch or dinner and wants to catch up with someone. I also feel as if the waitress would have been more attentive and personable with our table, such as asking how our food was, if the music was lower. If I were the waitress, I would have felt like I was annoying the table if I had to come over and shout while asking how the food was or if anything was needed. Although our waitresses tip was not affected by the noise, some people might not understand that the
