Julius Caesar Irony Have you ever wondered how many irony situations went on in this play? I can tell you there was a lot. Irony is a figure of speech in which words are used in such a way that their intended meaning is different from the actual meaning of the words. Also there is Irony between the characters, irony between the audience and the characters. There is verbal irony, dramatic irony , and situational irony in Julius Caesar. Caesar had lots of irony going on. The most used one was situational irony with Caesar. Situational irony is when a situation turns out differently than expected. For an example, Caesar said as if he was unchanging like the North Star. “But I am unchanging as the North Star.”(pg.109). Also a ironic thing
