In Fahrenheit 451, Bradbury's vision of the future is real to the extent of technology affecting the way we live and interact with others. For example, the technology in the book is taking over Mildred’s life negatively. As Montag is trying to wake Mildred up he says, “ "Will you turn the parlor off?" he asked. "That's my family." (Bradbury 46). She relies on it for entertainment and she acts as though she can not live without it she even thinks of it as family.
