In the article, “The Bernie Bomb”, the tones of abhorrence and antagonism shows affirmation in most of the article. The author’s, Kimberley Strassel, message she is conveying is that Bernie Sanders is not an acceptable President, not only that, but, the Strassel insults Sanders by saying that whoever donated to him should ask for a refund. The diction used relates to the tone of the passage, how Strassel phrases it is able to convey a very negative tone. For instance, Strassel calls Sanders a “lazy debater” who “happens to be stunningly unprepared” for the debate and how he “stumbled through all this with incoherent meditations.”
Many people think, or group Disneyland, and Disneyworld together, however they have many different attributes. For example, they are each on the opposite sides of the country, the biggest similarity is the fact that they both have the theme of Disney. Disneyland was the original park with 18 attractions on opening day on July 17, 1955. Disneyworld on the other hand opened on October 1, 1971. The size is also a huge difference, Disneyworld is 43 square miles, and covers the four Disney parks, Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s California Adventure, and is about twice the size of Manhattan, whereas Disneyland is only 500 acres and only covers Disneyland park, and Disney California adventure.
I’ve always been passionate about helping kids feel valuable in life. The last few years I have had great support and success in doing so by providing
In both of Hawthorne’s works there is a familiar theme, sin, which ties both of the stories together. The short story expresses, “It was tinged, rather more darkly than usual, with the gentle gloom of Mr. Hooper’s temperament. The subject had reference to secret sin, and those sad mysteries which we hide from our nearest and dearest, and would fain conceal from our own consciousness, even forgetting that the Omniscient can detect them” (“The Minister’s Black Veil” 3). Although Hawthorne did not make it clear, “The Minister’s Black Veil” has a relation with sin. Mr. Hooper was hiding something considering he was wearing a veil to cover his face, and the author was suggesting he had committed a sin.
In our community, I always strive to help others and the environment, and the people all around. I have assisted in the community cleanup at my local library and also the garbage cleanup at the beach. These actions that I have made helped shape my amazing experience at Wisdom Lane Middle School and they will help me shape my future for the better. These actions helped me build great relationships with the teachers in my school and even the principal. These pillars have helped me succeed in my three years of middle school and help me prepare for the rest of my years no matter what school I go to.
I enjoy learning about how organizations can selflessly impact communities, and how I can return the favor. To me, service is one of the few virtues in life that can benefit both those who sacrifice and those who benefit from the sacrifices. To give something and expect nothing in return is one of the most growing experiences anyone can undergo. My Miracle Babies Drive is an important instance of this to me, as the donations will be given to families with newborns in the NICU. But citizenship is yet another pillar affecting my nature.
I was fortunate to have a strong and loving family support system and a nurturing community that came together for my benefit. Whether it is through mentoring, tutoring or volunteering with youth events, I strive to provide the same support for the younger members of my family and community. I believe there is truth in the saying that children learn what they live, and I see it every time I work with young children. Therefore, it is my goal to someday be the kind of positive and influential role model for children that I was blessed with. I was raised to believe that you don’t make decisions in life based just on what you want to do, but rather on how you can help others and better the world around you.
Numerous people have recommended me to be an amazing role model for the others around me. Various of my school projects were used as examples for other students and will be used throughout the upcoming school years. People depend on me in the classroom, and I follow through by helping them. I lead groups with my friends to study for subjects we’re having trouble with. I lead children in my after school care program to do activities, or when they can’t figure out how to play games fairly.
I’m honest, accountable and actively participate in group and individual activities. I regularly babysit and do odd jobs and tasks. Always trying to help make someone's day a little nicer, holding the door open, smiling at some, giving food or giving a compliment. While these may have a small impact individually, together they have a wide influence on others.
Exceed customer expectations Walt Disney seeks to exceed customer expectations by providing high-quality entertainment. "We are interested in doing things that are fun in bringing pleasure and especially laughter to people it proves that it is a good business policy."
Disney has invested in its Parks and Resorts business over the last few years, and harvesting the returns from those investments will be the driver for the next three to five years. It expects the new Avatar Land and MyMagic+ initiatives to be two real drivers for Walt Disney World going forward. Just as Cars Land saw a park-wide benefit in terms of volume and length of stay, Avatar Land will play a similar role in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, as the park will be converted into a full-day experience that extends into the evening, and the company expects to see a positive impact from the overall volume and length of stay. It has also invested to create the biggest shopping village it has in Walt Disney World, called Disney Springs, which is expected
Does hearing the tagline “The Happiest place on earth” takes you on a memory lane of the very first day at Disneyland? The Walt Disney Company, was a dream of the most famous name in the animation industry and the creator of Mickey Mouse, Walt Elias Disney and now the company has estimated net worth of an about 36 billion dollars. (Funamentals n.d.) The company has been running from 1923 till current and I have decided to take the first 43 years (1923 to 1966) in consideration because I wish to tell the reader how the company went from Good to Great under the supervision of Walt Elias Disney.
As Disney was growing up, his father never allowed him to play with toys, and he always had a bitter attitude towards his children. Disney hated his father’s perspective of life, so when he grew up, he wanted to create a cheerful environment for children (“Walter”). Disney not only created parks, but he also developed many other creations that brought joy to children all over the world. Walt Disney used his cartoons, films, and theme parks to impact the world. He set high standards for the entertainment business with these endeavors, catching people’s attention with his creativity and imagination.
Throughout my high school career, I was forced into many situations where I was challenged to connect with my peers and serve as a role model for future students. Whether it be my involvement in the school marching band, or helping students in community tutoring sessions, I have always made it my goal to better the people around me through my own efforts. Throughout my high school career, I have put forth my best effort to connect with my peers, transform individuals, and make a difference in my community. Joining the school marching band at the beginning of my freshman year of high school was one of the best decisions I have ever made.
An interesting fact about Walt Disney’s Disney World is that on one of the four kingdom’s opening day, there was approximately around 10,000 people. Disney World has approximately 48 million visitors who annually come to the four kingdom parks for family vacations and other special occasions (www.orlando-florida.net). Many families all over the world come to visit Disney World for many reasons whether they want to have an experience of a lifetime or if they already have been and want to visit again. As one of the two Disney World’s slogans says, Disney is “The Place where Dreams Come True”(disneyparks.disney.go.com).
