The 2008 film Wall-E has many themes a lot of which tie in to the themes that are found within many transcendentalist writings of the 19th and 18th century. Wall-E touches on themes of nature and how to reconnect with a world away from the modern industrialized world. The movie sparkes a feeling in me that I felt while reading Henry David Thoreau's seminal work “ Walden”. Walden is a great piece of transcendental literature which shows Thoreau’s introspection while living in isolation next to Walden pond. The both touch upon themes of spirituality along with environmental themes.
