Aristotle's view on ethics is that virtues that are ideal are between two extremes, the deficient and the excess of that virtue. Many of these virtues are seen in The Odyssey. The Odyssey is an epic poem consisting of twenty-four books. The book was made by the famous Greek poet, Homer. The story is about Odysseus who goes through a ten-year journey to get back to his home, Ithaca. Odysseus goes through many adventures with many different experiences. Although this book was made a long time ago, we can still take valuable knowledge from it today. The Odyssey illustrates virtues like courage in their ideal form, which is unlike today's society whose virtues like temperance are distorted to their extremes.
