Is War Even Worth it “Anyone who thinks must think of the next war as they would of suicide.”-Eleanor Roosevelt. In My Brother Sam is Dead the authors clearly show; their opinion about war throughout the novel. A couple ways they show that war is futile is by Sam’s death, Mr. Meekers death and so many others. Also innocent lives that were lost, for example Ned's beheading. In My Brother Sam is Dead, although both sides of war are shown, author's Collier and Collier ultimately argue that war is futile.
