Waves of Feminism in a Political Perspective
We see it in television. We read it in newspapers. We witness it in our daily lives. Feminism. Through the years, this word had been promiscuous. It is loaded by a pool of different definitions, interpretations and misconceptions that its actual meaning has been obscured. People are rarely aware of what really it is all about and how did originate. Generations from generations, the essence and the core principles of feminism has clearly been misunderstood. Because of the ignorance of the people in finding out the actual context of this phenomenon, certain problems arise that could lead to greater conflict in. Thus, knowledge about this concern should be instilled among us. We should dig deeper in the political context so that we could thoroughly understand its principles and apply it to establish a greater society. …show more content…

According to Heywood, feministic upheavals can be traced back in the Ancient China although these were not considered legitimate because of the absence of political doctrines and theories. Feminism was then recognized after the publication of Mary Wollstonecraft’s A Vindication of the Rights of Women. Feminism reached its peak during what we call the “waves of feminism” which occurred in different time periods. These are the first to third waves of feminism that were recognized through the support of political doctrines and
