Over the years, the president has gained a significant amount of power. Some think that the president has gained too much power of the years. The powers of the president are outlined in Article II of the constitution. Article II grants far fewer powers to the president than the president holds today. Now, presidents can go on TV and talk about things they want to get done. They can get support from people all over the United States, which gives them more power. When they get support from a lot of people all over the United States, it allows the president to bypass congress. Presidents can also use the internet to get support from the citizens.
