“How Athletics and Activities Have Influenced My Life”
Playing sports and being active started for me when I was really young. My love for sports began at the age of 4 when my parents decided that I should play t-ball. Over the years, I developed a passion for being active. City leagues of softball and basketball were my favorite to participate in. Thus far, sports have remained a part of what I love to do. Also, being a part of a team has taught me how to interact with others my age. Not only did sports help me remain active, it has also assisted me in obtaining a better attitude on life. As a student-athlete, I have learned to manage and prioritize my life. Throughout many of the different tasks that are required of a student-athlete, there is much triumph that comes while doing so. In fact, my seventh grade year was when I decided that I could manage the job of playing basketball and being a student at the same time. The Quitman Lady Panther basketball team became my second family. Growing up and creating lifetime memories with a group of girls who share the same interests is priceless. However, as time progressed, staying focused in school and remaining committed to a sport became harder especially for a straight A student.
