Humans get grouped into certain categories all the time, fat, smart, sarcastic, etc... Thomas H. Benton classifies his college students in a whole new perspective by dividing his students into groups pertaining to the 7 deadly sins. Thomas creates a sense of separation via indulgences: things we shouldn't do, but we do anyway because they ultimately bring us pleasure. Each of Thomas' categories focuses on different sins, pride, envy, gluttony, greed, anger, sloth, and lust.

All humans have, or will, commit at least one of the seven deadly sins in their lifetimes. Avaritia, or greed, is one of the seven deadly sins, and it is the one sin that every person, no matter how selfless, commits.
There are 7 deadly sins, they are lust, gluttony, greed, sloth, wrath, envy, and pride. These deadly sins can be related to almost any novel. There are 4 books that show resemblance to the 7 deadly sins. The books are Silas Marner, The Great Gatsby, Julius Caesar, and Frankenstein, to relate to 4 sins, greed, lust, pride, and wrath. In almost any book, the seven deadly sins are present.
The Sins of Society The seven deadly sins are lust, greed, gluttony, laziness, wrath, envy, and pride. All in which people indulge in to some extent. Some work to be more wealthy and others take pride in things they excel in, these sins both seem harmless when in small doses. However, few individuals let greed and wrath drive them to much greater sins such as burglary, theft, and murder.
The seven deadly sins is a part of human ethics that has been used for thousands of years to educate and instruct people concerning humanity’s tendency to sin, or to do wrong. The sins are Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Laziness, Wrath, Envy, and Pride. In And Then There Were None, each character on the island was guilty for committing at least one of the seven deadly sins. Some of them are minor such as pride. Others were dangerous and life-threatening which includes wrath and pride.
All the punishments are awful. However, when Dante describes the punishments of those who committed violence against god he clearly shows his anger towards these people through the punishment he gave them. Those who are: simonists, fraudulent, magicians, diviners, and fortune tellers. The punishment for all the fraudulent is to be boiled in pitch and furthermore to have devils jab them with pitchforks. As for the other sins they have four punishments any of them could get such as: Face down in holes while their feet burn, being integrated with others forever, to wallow in ordure, and lastly being covered with sores and scabs from head to toe.
The Bible talked about lust many times, and referred to it as a shameful sin. Wrath represents the portrayal of extreme anger. The Bible explained that wrath would never become excusable, and would lead to worse sins. Pride is many times considered the sin of sins. The Bible stated that pride started Lucifer on the path to become the Devil.
The seven most deadly sins are available sins are avarice, sloth, envy, lust, gluttony, pride, and wrath. These sins are used daily just about everywhere. They are used in school in every room by everyone including adults and kids. I chose to talk about how the seven sins are used in the classroom at school. Avarice is shown in a classroom by the higher up kids that think that they are better then everyone else.
Greed, lust, gluttony, sloth, wrath, envy, and pride. Ever since the Middle Ages the Roman Catholic Church has portrayed flaws within humanity as the seven deadly sins. While this concept isn’t new, sins represent how evil can come in many different forms. True evil comes from within and is defined by an action committed with disregard for other living beings; or in other words self-interest. Self-interest is something all humans are born with and often synonymous to the seven deadly sins.
Through life there are many sins that have the potential to keep us from a Heavenly afterlife. These ungodly acts are titled The 7 Deadly Sins, which are: Greed Wrath, Vanity,Envy, Lust, Gluttony and Sloth. The father of these sins is Sloth, or Laziness. Living a life of laziness and carelessness will bring about the idea that nothing matters,creating a sinful mindset. This shows as young Hamlet struggles with his father's death.
In The Canterbury Tales, by Geoffrey Chaucer, he found most people to be “liars,” especially the religious leaders. Although, not “liars,” but more he sees them as corrupt and deceptive. In the time that Chaucer was around, corruption in the Catholic Church was very prevalent and they sold indulgences out of greed and deception. Chaucer writes about the deception in all groups of people, and their hypocrisy in the way they try to justify their actions. Chaucer’s point of view on his society seems to be very negative towards the way most of society lives their lives out of greed.
Each sin will be embodied very differntly. Pride will make sure to accentaute all of the right assets, Gluttony will be overly consumming, Wrath will be dark and bring out horns, Envy will be make you green, Lust will be provoking sheer, Sloth will be constricted avantgard and greed will

Dante’s Inferno details the long journey of Dante and Virgil, throughout the bowels of Hell, or the Inferno. Dante’s Inferno is organized into nine different levels, each distributing a different and awful punishment to every different sin. The main sins include the seven deadly sins, “Wrath, Sloth, Lust, Greed, Pride, Gluttony, Envy”, he also included “Treachery” and “Violence”. The three sins that I believe fit their sins would be “Wrath/Sulleness”, “Greed” and “Gluttony”.
Augustine’s conception of the sin in The Confessions is vastly different from today’s version of sin. In the modern world, Christian sin is mainly focused on the seven deadliest whereas Saint Augustine added more onto this list. The book mainly explores St. Augustine’s struggle for celibacy and converting himself to Christianity. Augustine also created a concept he termed as original sin. Original sin states that sin is inherently within all of us, we are all born evil and thus have to fight to be good.
