Nunez 2 The Olympics have changed a lot over time. The rules, requirements, and more have went through many changes since it was first held around Olympia, Greece in 776 B.C. During those times they were held every four years in the summer time and in the exact same place every time. Now the Olympics are held in different places every time. In today's Olympics a torch is lit on fire at Olympia to symbolize the ancient Olympics. Many athletes carry this torch together throughout the country where the Olympics are being held at until they reach the stadium. In today’s Olympics there are summer and winter Olympics which happen every 4 years. However, they aren't held in the same year as they had been before. Now the Summer Olympics are held and then in two years the Winter Olympics are held, and then after two years the Summer Olympics are held.
