Day by day, the students would start to enjoy the class. Jaime would help them learn mathematics step by step, this was a hard task for the students in the beginning. The students would become frustrated, but Jaime wouldn’t let them give up so easily. Yet, Jaime and his students would have personal problems of their own, they were still determined about academics. After months of hard work during the school year and summer break, the class has finally reached the level of advanced mathematics.

I always had an interest in learning about different sciences in High School, and knew I wanted to choose a career where I could help people. However, it was not until I was in my senior year, when my father fell sick, I realized my true interest was in medicine and the human body. The doctors would come into his hospital room, explaining what tests they were doing and what medications they were going to give him. My curiosity lead me to research the illnesses he was being tested for; forms of vasculitis. It was not until after numerous different tests and a lung biopsy that my father was diagnosed with the rare form of vasculitis, Churg-Strauss Syndrome.

With the experience of working as a teacher assistant for Prekinder I had several goals for my students, but one of the goals that I had to have more emphasis on is the regulation of behaviors. When I came in as a teacher assistant I noticed that my students had no management of their behaviors. This was a major concern to me so my goal was steer away from that and teach them how one should deal with the problems they come in contact with. So in order to achieve my goal I communicated with the teacher of the classroom in reinforcing the behaviors of the children that support self regulation.
I want to become an assistant principal for one simple reason, the children. I believe that all children can learn under the right conditions. With this in mind, I feel that instructional leaders are responsible for ensuring that the conditions for learning are embedded in the school’s culture. Personal Statement I come from a large family with relatives from a little ranch in Chihuahua, Mexico. Many of which have never made it past grade school. Mainly due to their mother, my grandma, she had fallen very ill. Due to her condition and lack of money my aunts and uncles dropped out of school to work and help pay for her medication and medical expenses. The older siblings had to take care of the younger siblings.

Personal Statement for NQT Year I have been lucky enough to have been taught by some truly inspirational teachers and am aware of the effect they have had on my life and the choices I have made subsequently. My own passion for working with young children extends from my desire to emulate these role models and perform the same inspirational function in the lives of my students. I have always enjoyed being around young people and have supplemented my interests in primary teaching with as much work experience as possible. I completed my PGCE Education course and qualified in 2006.
