Potential barrier that Honilands Children Centre may face are: Resource barrier: The lack of staff –.when I visited the children centre, the reception area was extremely busy due to the reception only having one receptionist. This means that Honilands is lacking in staff as there weren’t enough receptionists. To improve this Honilands should hire more receptionists to make the process faster and swift. Also when I looked on the website it wasn’t very informative and it was difficult to navigate where things were. For example, they have a ramp leading to the entrance and from the exit for wheelchair users and people who use buggies. It is also very spacious making it more comfortable for the service users. However what I realised when I went there was that there were no parking areas for Honilands. This meant people who travelled by car had to park quite far away from the children centre resulting them to walk a distance which may be difficult for parents or carers as their child may be tired or agitated. Honilands should create a parking are for service users or find some space for them to park that isn’t far away from the children centre. Geographical barrier: The location of Honilands Children Centre is very difficult to navigate as I had to ask for directions from a multiple of people before someone knew where it was. This is because it is not on a main road and in a very isolated area. Also it is hard to navigate as it used to be attached to a primary school but has now moved a street away confusing some people and leading them to another direction. To overcome this barrier Honilands should put up clear signs on the streets near the Honilands that show directions towards the children
