The commission process Commission is the process where the writers can start doing their work, based on the pitched ideas.
Job roles in writing for TV and film;

Commissioning Editor
The Commissioning Editor is have the job to look over scripts to see if they are worth being commissioned. Commission editors would have had previous experience as assistant editors, researchers and even runners to get their position as a commissioning editor. Different commissioning editors will be used for different genres, for example, a different person will be selecting ideas for horrors to the person selecting comedies etc. Also have to ensure the writers deliver typescripts which are deliver on time and are precise. A producer will ensure each incomplete project is made to completion and may also be involved in the marketing and distribution processes. The producers can also may take of all the projects operations as they could be the director sometimes. The Producer can also be the person who is going to be pitching the idea and they have control over who the director will be and who will be playing certain characters. Producers have to also keep the project within allocated budget and arrange the funding for the project.
Director
The director is the person who makes a vision into a visual idea, they will take an idea and see wherever they want to work with it or not. They are the person who turns the script into shots. If the director wants to work with the script he would have to talk with the executive producer who has the will then give the go ahead for production. The director controls everything happening on the set and they can also be directing the post-production stages on what shots the editor can use and wherever to delete some entire scenes. …show more content…

A film corporations are film companies who release a certain amount of films. They receive their income form box office revenue for each of the films and the sales of the films, so these corporations cannot afford to release a movie which isn’t going to sell to their standards as if they do it will lose them a lot of money for a lot of work. An example of a film corporation is 20th Century Fox this company produces many films a year with each film having a high box office.
An independent production company produce films outside the major film corporations. Independent production companies are useful when it comes to creating the low budget films that larger companies are not interested in as they believe low budget films won’t give them much of a profit so they like to stay away from producing them. It may also be a good opportunity for inexperienced directors to make a good name for themselves by creating a popular movie with a low budget. An example of an independent film company is Bedlam Productions, Bedlam Productions being an independent film and television Production Company.
