Describe the ethical considerations and risk assessment process that resulted in the safety instructions for learners in this lesson.
Year two is a class of 20 students, consisting of twelve girls and eight boys; three of which have identified learning difficulties. A variety of considerations had to be explored to ensure the safety of all students outlined in the science lesson. With groups of 4-5, the amount of resources needed were taken into consideration and at most times provided for students individually. Therein, during rotation activities the consideration was made to encourage students to collaborate and take turns, contributing to their personal and social capability and their ability to work cooperatively (ACARA, 2016). The designated spaces for the rotation activities were decided upon to ensure students were not crowded. For example, three rotations were being run inside as table activities while the activity requiring physical movement was allocated to be in an appropriate, larger space outside to avoid physical contact. The identifiable risks were associated with the scooter boards as a fast moving object that could cause physical exertion or bodily contact. With the consideration of student behaviour
