Permanent Change With Cole Getting attacked by a giant bear alone in the forest and then having to lay on the ground without being able to use of an arm or legs would change the way the world is seen, would it not? Maybe having to sit in a freezing river then having to carry a huge rock up a mountain might change something. If forgiving anyone and everyone who had hurt you and you moved on, don’t you think that some little part of you might change? In the book Touching Spirit Bear by Ben Mikaelsen, Cole was able to make permanent change by having a near death experience, his morning routine, and learning to forgive those who had hurt him. With doing these actions he learned to move on from his past and become a better person.
On a typical school day, students sit through 7-8 hours of nonsensical busywork before they can even leave the building. Most high schools in America have a strictly structured day planned out for their students. To begin the day, students sit in class for a few hours. Then they are exposed to some of the worst food known to man, cafeteria food. Not to mention that once they are done scarfing down the sodium-rich garbage called food, the students have to sit in class for a few more hours before their freedom is regained.
In an Early Years Setting it’s the practitioner's role to maintain health, safety and care for the children in the environment. All settings should provide fruit and milk to benefit their health in their early start to life; this will benefit the child eating the right nutrients to help them progress in their development. Not only this but it’s essential to have healthy, enjoyable menus throughout the day and to safeguard them against obesity, diabetes and so forth. Through my placement, it seemed important that the parents were aware what they should put in their child’s lunch box and how beneficial it was to a child’s mood, cravings and abilities throughout the day.
During both breakfast and lunch, students are expected to take either a fruit or vegetable as a part of their meal whether they are going to eat it or not. Most of the time students tell the cafeteria ladies they do not want to take an item since they will not eat it, being that it is usually not fresh or too frozen to eat, but as a result they are forced to take the fruit or vegetable after being repeatedly told to do so. Consequently, since the food is usually not fresh and the student do not want it in the first place, the fruit or vegetable is either wasted and thrown away or ends up on the ground or in the planters located around school. Students and staff at Hughson High School can all make a difference two times a day, each time we eat. Besides bringing in freshly grown crops to Hughson High School, the school could provide samples of the food being served.
The food students are served is deprived of most of the unhealthy items: such as trans fat, high amount of calories, and others. The students that is probably will not like the food if it made any healthier. If the students do not
Every dish the cafeteria serves is always unnapatizing. There is no seasoning and no time or effort put into the meals. They come straight from the freezer and are heathed up. The meat does not even look real. Students are constantly finding odd looking things in their meats which could he a health hazard.
Many students would be thrilled to hear that FDTC was planning on building a food court with a variety of different lunch options. Currently, the only option for food here at FDTC is a Subway. Although, this is a very nutritious and appetizing food choice, it is the only one that the school has. Myself and many of my fellow classmates have grown tired of eating Subway every day and have resorted to not eating while at school. Most colleges do not offer a designated lunch provided by the school because every student has different classes at different times of the day.
Student Declaration of Independence Preamble: When in the course of life events, we are writing this Declaration of Independence to declare that we should be able to have off campus lunch because what we are served at lunch is basically the same thing from the day before. Us as students should have the right to be able to have our own say in this. Declaration: We hold these truths to be obvious that we should get better lunch or be able to go off of campus to get our own food because here at school we get the same food everyday and the food doesn't even taste real.
Food is essential. It is clearly a necessity for life, and because of this, how we view our food is just as important as what it is that we are eating. Some say that ignorance is bliss and sometimes that may be true, but with knowledge comes wisdom. Today I am going to show you the health risks an open campus lunch poses, the threat of schools losing money, and the dangers to the community that it can cause.
Eating a healthy school lunch is part of the National School Lunch Program. It increases a child's consumption of six vitamins and minerals. According to a study published in 2003 in the “American Journal of Agricultural Economics.” Researchers found that eating school lunches helped a student’s intake of calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, zinc, vitamin B12 and riboflavin, as well as dietary fiber. These students also had a lower intake of added sugars.
Also, if school starts later you will be able to have a proper and healthy breakfast. It is important for students’ because with there growing bodies and developing brains they need regular refueling often, from food. When kids skip breakfast, they don’t get what they need to be at their best in school and at home. If you’re short on time you can just throw some fruit in a blender and make a delicious and nutritious smoothie.

Cafeteria food in schools is made to be healthy for students, but is it really healthy for students if they think it is foul and do not want to eat it? Should schools change the healthy foods to foods that students would actually want to eat? School food’s job is to be healthy and tasty to get the students through their day, but sadly school lunches tend to miss the mark on both accounts. Public schools rely on money from the government to supply food to their students, but due to several cutbacks the thing served in the cafeteria is hardly food at all. We all know the stereotypical school food mystery meat Monday or a slab of grey mush and sadly that is not too far from what it is in reality.
