I believe that each juvenile goes through significant changes and development at an early age, including social, emotional, and physical. But, some of them may be vulnerable to negative influences, such as joining gang members. Gangs are known to be organized groups of individuals who engage in criminal activities, such as drug trafficking, robbery, murder, and vandalism. The factors below are my 4 reasons I think juveniles join gangs and how these factors contribute to gang membership and juvenile crime in society. However, some of them may lack opportunities to satisfy these needs. In this situation, gangs may offer them thrills and excitement through criminal activities. Gangs may provide them with the opportunity to engage in illegal acts, such as stealing, fighting, or using drugs. These activities may provide juveniles with a rush of adrenaline and a sense of power. The fourth reason why juveniles join gangs is the lack of positive role models and mentors. Some juveniles may grow up in families or communities that lack positive role models and mentors. They may not have access to adults who can guide, mentor, or support them. In this situation, gangs may provide them with a surrogate family or community. Gangs offer them a sense of belonging, loyalty, and brotherhood. They may also provide guidance, mentorship, or protection. These factors contribute to gang membership and juvenile crime by exposing juveniles to negative influences and behaviors.
