The industrial revolution impacted the world in many ways, leaving improvements and changes to our world. It is known as a period of time, from 1760 to around 1830, in which the production of goods and services moved from home to businesses and industries, hand crafted goods were made using machines, and many more that still exist today. One of the biggest impacts of the industrial revolution was the working conditions in factories. There is so much to say about this topic, both positive and negative. The working conditions were terrible in the factories with young children doing the labor, long hours with short breaks, and even abuse.
Prior to the year 1890 the United States went through the era of industrialization. The era focused on manufacturing, and factory work which led to mass production. Industrialization caused the U.S cities and market economy to expand rapidly. Industrialization also shaped the development of a large working class, to provide work for the large industries. Workers experienced poor working conditions such as long hours, poor sanitation, and little pay.
The Industrial Revolution was a period of great adaptation in manufacturing technology that lasted from about the year 1760 to 1900. It brought about much change, both for the better and the worse. The Industrial Revolution was more negative than positive for Europeans in the 19th century. For much of the Industrial Revolution, working conditions were unhealthy and dangerous for the low-skilled workers and living conditions in the city were unhealthy and unsafe. However, over the course of one-hundred years, the quality of life improved.
While industrialization brought about an increased volume and variety of manufactured items and an improved standard of living for some, it also resulted in often bad employment and living conditions for the poor. Education was poor, the rich had private tutors. There were of course schools and several universities. They were basically for the rich. The industrial Revolution brought changes in the world.
With Industrialization, our civilization improved agriculture techniques, medical procedures, and the steam engine which enhanced lives. People had more food to eat and we're living longer. The steam engine brought faster travel and machines to take over manual labor. But these advances came with a price. While some might argue that Industrialization had primarily positive consequences for society because there were more comforts and conveniences as well as a greater output of goods, it was actually a negative thing for society.
Factory owners sought to control and discipline their workforce through a system of long working hours, fines and low wages. In the early 1800’s, injuries were very common textile mills (Mill Children). Due to bad working conditions mill workers suffered from a lot of sicknesses (Cotton Dust & OSHA).The mill girl’s “normal shifts were usually 12-14 hours a day, with extra time required during busy periods. Workers were often required to clean their machines during their mealtimes” (Factory Life). In the 1840’s, workers experienced bad working conditions; in the novel Lyddie, Lyddie responds to these problems by ignoring them at first, but eventually speaking up.
Imagine a time where machines replaced people, iron replaced wood and steel replaced iron. A time where the electric light bulb has just been invented and the railroad was expanding across America. Industrialization was a huge turning and growing point for the United States. It helped shape the United States and the world we live in today. Through the inventions, development of businesses, and laws passed by the government industrialization had a positive effect on the United States.
The era of industrialization in the U.S. happened rapidly and caused many changes for people around the country. Industries such as railroads, steel making and coal energy were growing larger and it opened up a whole new job market for individuals. Industrialization brought great improvements to machinery and the economy. It also brought lots of people to more urban areas compared to rural areas. It was the start of a new Nation.
The industrial revolution was an incredibly difficult time to be a factory or mine worker. With the textiles and mining industries still in their early stages, labour laws were loose and working conditions ranged from uncomfortable to downright dangerous. As Britain transitioned from an agrarian society to an industrial one, throngs of people found themselves out of work and seeking jobs. Employers could set wages as low as they wanted, since people were so desperate that they would work for very little money.

Gilded Age caused many problems to outbreak in its era, such as, outlandish fortunes and poverty, incongruous meat production, flux of foreign immigration, ecological demolition, etc.
Something that was good about the industrial revolution was that there was more workers and people could get payed more. Things that were bad was that little kids could. That’s bad because kid get hurt for example, for kids who worked on farms would ride on horse rakes and easily fall off and get crushed. Kids would get overworked after working 12 hours a day.
The Industrial Revolution witnessed the evolution of large urban centers, such as Boston and New York City. It changed society from agrarian to mechanical, which further moved jobs to larger cities. As every coin has two sides, there are negative sides to this. Primarily, it caused severe pollution. The environment condition was bad with smokes surrounding them.

Well to start, the industrial revolution took place from the 18th century to the 19th century. The industrial revolution originally began in Britain in the late 1700s. This era, was quite different from the Industrial Era. This was when they made factories, and the idea of factory labor had become possible. The Industrial Revolution was during 1820 to 1840. These two revolutions have quickly modernized the Western world. Human settlement changed drastically.
Usually, people worked long hours and had no time to go out and explore different fun activities. Another thing that did not help them was the fact that these people had no money or electricity. Luckily, industrialization made jobs become more complex and education became mandatory.
