The current Iran we see was not like this before revolution took place. It has gone through many phases and cultural changes. The purpose behind its revolutions did not define through its action when the freedom was achieved. Such as, the Islamic Revolution in Iran took place during the 20th century. It had a drastic impact on the country. Additionally, the revolution directed the coup of Shah Mohammad Reza. It was led by Ayatollah Khomeini. The aftermath of the revolution was a significant contrary towards what Iran was leading previously. Such as, constitutional monarchy was replaced by an Islamic republic in contrary to Iran’s previous vision. Motives behind the Islamic Revolution: When the revolution took place, the Shah of Iran was leading a life which was not lead by everyone in Iran. Also, during this time period, Islamic values were not obtained by the country the most. It was devoting itself towards modernization which was not widely accepted. Furthermore, majority of its population lived in poverty. Along with that, during that time the county increased permeation of foreign capital into the economy. Not to mention, vast revenues from the exploitation of oil was being collected at the time. These actions created antipathy and social stratification in the country that led anti-government protests.
