Motivation is the general desire or willingness for a person to pursue their desired goal. It encourages them to reach their goal. The Europeans were motivated to trade across the oceans with the methods and ideas they had. These innovations allowed them to excel in further trades.This period of time was known as the age of exploration. The desires of Europeans encouraged them to trade with others during the age of exploration. The main motives for Europeans were religion and wealth. They sailed across in hope of treasures. Asia offered the Europeans luxurious goods and spices. A large amount of merchants started using the concept of supply and demand to their advantage. When supply was low the prices of goods rose greatly for a high profit.
