1. Explain what “proctoring” means and why the UoPeople requires proctored exams. Proctoring is the supervision of a student while taking an exam off the campus of the university usually used in distance learning (Distance Learning.Wisconsin, n.d.). The UoPeople requires proctored exams as it is an online University and as such does not offer the traditional classroom setting where students can be monitored to adhere to the code of conduct with respect to taking exams. 2. Upon completion, you will see an “Add a proctor to this course” button if one or more of your courses requires a proctored exam. You must add a proctor during the course registration to complete it. Once you have clicked the button for Add Proctor you will be shown which courses require the proctor. Another way to register a proctor is to add them from the “manage proctors” tab on the portal homepage. Next, you will be asked to enter all of your proctor’s pertinent information and confirm that your proctor meets all the requirements. Only then will you be allowed to confirm and add a proctor to said course. When you have completed all of the above, your proctor will be sent an email asking for confirmation of if he/she is willing and able to be your proctor. Until confirmation of this is made, your course will continue to show the proctor status as “pending approval”. Once your proctor confirms or denies your request you will be sent an email stating the decision and your course enrollment will reflect the same in the proctor status (UoP,
