All American Boys, co-written written by Jason Reynolds and Brendan Kiely, is a young adult novel told from the perspectives of two high school classmates, Rashad Butler and Quinn Collins. Rashad is savagely beaten by a police officer who wrongly suspects that he is shoplifting, and Quinn witnesses the entire beating but originally pretends he did not. The purpose of this essay is to analyze the novel, All American Boys, looking at it through the lens of a racial and ethnical theory. Often times race and ethnicity can be confused as the same thing, but this essay will use two separate working definitions.

All American Boys has two perspectives, one is about a boy name Rashad and the other is about a boy named Quinn. Rashad is a black boy who lives with his mom, dad and his brother. The other perspective comes from a boy named Quinn.
In Rescuing our Sons from the Myths of Boyhood, Pollack lists ideas for parents and what they can do to help their sons overcome conventional pressures from society. Giving sons their undivided attention is to help the son realize that his parents are there for him and that they care about him. Encouraging the expression of a full range of emotions can show a son that it is okay to not always be cheerful, and that his parents empathize and understand with how he is feeling. Parents can also not tease or taunt when their son expresses vulnerable feelings, helping him learn to express and cope with a broad range of feelings. To not use shaming language and use a way to talk to their sons in a way in which they can respond to.
Today girls are more privileged than back years ago. Several women still expect that they are treated the same as women were back at that time, which causes several women believe that boys are still the dominate sex. Explained by a woman named, Christina Hoff Sommers, as she wrote “The War Against Boys,” who argues that girls have been increasing ahead of boys, which has resulted in boys languishing academically and socially. However argues that this statement is untrue. Beginning to build her credibility, Sommers states a few of the accomplishments of women and also saying that countless women complain about being the less dominant sex.

During the summer when i was reading the book “Boys in the boat “ My reaction to it was pretty dim in the beginning. I have to admit when i first started reading this book i wasn't really attracted to it as i thought i would be. Although when i got a little more in depth with the book it actually started to intrigue me.
Lauren Graff Prof. Logan Naylor ENGL:1200 March 12, 2023 Analysis on “Boys” by Rick Moody Rick Moody starts off his story with this sentence, and this remains to be a key sentence when it comes to the rest of the story. There is no introduction of characters, no location, just that the boys have arrived. He uses a very interesting writing stye within this story, compared to the “normal” writing form most authors use. The story begins in a fast approach just like how things appear in our lives, out of no where sometimes. Moody illustrates a story of the two boys as they go throughout life, coping with conflict that comes their way along with gradually growing into being men.
This idea has been diffused over centuries, but people now are trying to impede gender disparity and efface it. To conclude, we find ourselves on a dilemma. On one side we have machism and men thinking they are better than women and vice versa. On the other, we have people who are just looking for gender equality.
Moreover, when we look at business life, we see profile of working, producing woman today. They also gained dignity in business area because the showed that they could do it like men. Today it is possible to see women in every field, they always prove to everyone who look down on them, so that they pursued a high education to upgrade themselves. Although today school has the same number of girls and boys, the higher education rates are greater for women. Apart from this, today women more prefer to give birth a baby girl more than baby boy because of they think that girls are

By partaking in this oppositional culture, the lads reinforced the ideological division between mental and manual labor, rejecting the mental in favour of physical work. Yet this affirmation was not due to a passive acceptance of their place in society; for the lads, manual work signified their masculine power and superiority, requiring far more physical challenge and awareness of the concrete existence which surrounds their lives, than 'pen-pushing' (Gorden, 1984). A counter school culture and manual work served as the primary source of the lads' identities. Therefore, in their eyes, the fact that they did not share the same linguistic and cultural competences of their school teachers was of little consequence.
Boys tend to develop better verbal ability and especially achieve greater economic growth with the time spend with girls in their households and in schools. Single sex schools eliminates these such opportunities and increase discrimination and stereotyping. (Ancheta , 2018).
