What does the American Flag mean to me? For many people, the American Flag means something to them. For veterans, the flag shows that their hard work at war has paid off and that the American Flag can proudly be displayed. For citizens, the flag to them is their symbol of freedom, pride and their commitment to their country. The American Flag can be interpreted in many ways, for people have different point of views of the flag. I personally am very proud of the flag. I interpreted the flag as a sign of courage, pride, and hard work. One way I interpret the flag is that it is a sign of courage. Courage because the soldier or the people who died fighting for America fought with courage. They fought knowing with the fear that they might not make it alive, or that it will endanger the lives of his/her comrades. They fought with fear inside but they didn't want to show that. They wanted their country to prosper, and to do so, was to fight with courage. America’s citizen also had courage. When its ambassadors went to other countries to negotiate trades, they had courage even thought it might not work. Her athletics also have courage when competing at events. Hard work because, America isn't how it is today without the hard work of her citizens. When America recently became a country, it got into wars. But since the soldiers worked hard to prevent America from becoming another country, America stayed the same. Teachers and mentors also work hard to make sure America’s children grow into well educated people. America’s athletes work hard to make America look good. And to make America look good, the American Flag also looks good. The way I interpret the hard work in America, is people want to be proud of their country. They are proud of their hard work.
