The inverted pyramid is a traditional news reporting style that`s design to communicate the most important and relevant information at the beginning of the news story and information of diminished importance as the story progresses on. The most important information should be communicated in the first one or two sentences. When submitting a press release to a media professional, he or she will only read a few lines and before deciding whether to read on or to toss it and throw it away! There are several different types of releases - compare the similarities/differences between two of them. The difference between a social media press release and the more traditional release.
