I agree with David Leonhardt’s claim that having a college degree can benefit you through a career. Having a degree pay more than a high school diploma. A census done by the U.S. government on education in the U.S population of individuals age 25 and older, shows that the high school completion rate increased from 87.6% in 2011 to 91.1% in 2021.
I wish to attend college to further enhance my education, to be a first generation college student, and to become a better version of myself. First, I wish to enhance and further my education. If one decides not to attend college, that person should reconsider, here are some reasons why a high school graduate should consider college as an option. Not going to college will leave you without a degree, leaving it will be a struggle when looking for a good job. High school graduates who decide not to go to college can go to a trade school or join the army to further their career as other options besides attending a University. With that being said what are some reasons to consider attending college? A college education is valuable because one can earn greater wealth, develop better social skills and most like have better health.
Position statement: For college Should I or should I not, that is the decision we all encounter when we finally reach high school. Now, there are many factors that will affect a person’s life. A college education is very important for me to obtain the career I want. College will provide me the knowledge and practice I need to be successful. Going to college will help me get accustomed to the pressure of the real world and will give me the opportunity to become independent. Graduating college is my number one goal in life.
