Even reading at least 10 minutes a day would equate to nearly two million words being read over the year, this would not only majorly improve literacy skills but immensely strengthen brain power and develop the ability to experience a limitless range of stories and adventures. Firstly – Improving Literacy/Reading skills Reading is the best way to expand on your vocabulary and punctuation skills so why don't we read more? Is it that we’re lazy? Or is it that we can’t? its estimated that up to 7 million Australians can’t read, evident by a 2008 study conducted by the ABC. Just by setting aside a day for just a week to read we would all begin to see major improvements in our vocabulary, punctuation and grammar proficiencies.
