Paragraph 1) I believe that high school football shouldn't be banned. You can can make better gear to change the game’s injuries. If high school football gets banned then no college football scouts will scout because they will have nothing to scout. I think high school football should not be banned because if it gets banned then high school football players can't get a football scholarship.
Without athletes there would be no games, and hence no money and why they should be financially
There were ten seconds left in the fourth quarter during the high school football finals with the score being 30-27. The Wasps were down three points when they had the ball at the 50 yard line, and the fate of the championship all depended on one throw. “Hike” yelled the quarterback; the ball snapped to him, and the receiver bolted down the field turf spraying from his cleats. 1.1 million students play high school football, and it is one of the most popular sports. The alumni have pride when they wear their jerseys because they represent their school.
These schools also spend six times as much money per athlete than for students. This is not fair to students that are paying to attend a certain university because they are not receiving the full value and benefits that school could offer. Although some people argue that sports bring in donations from boosters and increased applications, cutting just a fraction of the costs of sports would free up thousands of dollars that could be put back into scholarships for students, reducing student
Paying athletes and cutting back on building new facilities every year would cost less than building new
Why High School Sports should be Funded I think that high school sports should be funded and these are the reasons to explain why. High school sports should be funded because they help kids get into college for free. This data shown here is supported by (kcra.com). This quote shows that high school sports can help kids get into college for free and maybe if they are good enough NFL,MLB,NBA,NHL, or FIFA..
High School Sports Should be Funded Every year 300,000 students are participating in sports (Gould 1). The School District has been funding the athletics program, which has been benefiting many of the students’ lives for several years. The discontinuation of high school sports will cause many students to loose the health, social and educational benefits provided by participating in athletics. The School District should continue to fund sports because they benefit students.
The stress can get so intense, it feels paralyzing. That’s why it is important than ever for schools to invest in their athletic programs,” states the sports article “Should Schools get rid of Sports.” Schools should keep their sports programs because they help improve academics, help improve mental and emotional health, and improves social skills like being on a team. Schools should not get rid of their sports programs because they help with student’s academics.
There are schools that really need the money from college sports. There are those people who say we need to drop college sports because colleges are for education. While this is agreeable to a point, can’t the sports on campus also serve as a way to teach? Do these people really think they are doing everyone
Sport in high school shouldn’t be taken away because it allow new students to make friends a lot easier. If we didn’t have sports in schools then there wouldn’t be professional sports anymore because the kids won’t be able to practice and not every kid has money to buy a ball or net and basketball hoop. It helps the student’s grades in classes because if they have low grades in one class they can’t play the sport so they try their hardest to raise the grade so they can play the sport. This is why I think they shouldn’t take away sports in high schools.
As Amanda Ripley stated in her article, “many schools spend over 20 thousand dollars just on grass fields” (11). “They also need to pay for buses for the team, the band, and the cheerleaders, not to mention meals and hotels on the road” (Ripley 11). This is something districts should think about, if they cut sports, students could have a better education. School sports cost way too much money, which they could use on academics instead. Although it has been proven that sports waste people’s money, they also can affect students academically.
Athletics plays a major role in many people’s lives. Sports create time for kids to have fun, and can bring opportunities. For example, teenagers and college students are trying to make careers out of their raw talents in their athletic abilities. Schools should continue to fund and support their sports programs because athletics allow children and teens to learn how to work as a team, enables regular exercise, and improves physical skills.
All schools should have school supported sports. School sports are more healthful than hurtful in many ways. All schools that don't have sports are missing out on some benefits. Some with the school's weathyness, some with the students, and some with teachers. But for some reason they want to get rid of them.
According to Amanda Ripley, in 2012 a solo school district in Premont, Texas was threatened to shut down due to financial problems and academic failure, but they made the decision to end all sports and that resulted in them saving $150,000 in one year (10). More specifically, new bleachers could go for a half a millions dollars, maintaining grass fields could cost $20,000 and overall districts pay large amounts of money to keep sports in the schools (Ripley 11). This data shows that money is no minor problem, schools use up enormous amounts of cash that can limit their opportunity to use it for other resources, people of the district should look into it so, better material could be invested upon. 24% out of 55.5% of high school students are kicked off of sports teams every due to them having bad grades. That is not the only thing, last year high schools had it that you had to have a D letter grade average to play sports they then boosted it up so that you have to have a C letter grade average to participate in sports. But then you realize that the grades that sports players get are not that good after all. Most high school sports players get are kept on the team barely holding on with grades like C’s and D’s.
