There could be profound impact on one's thoughts, opinions or actions which might affect certain events in the future. Significant individuals, another form of persuasion used especially by companies to promote their ideas but is not as successful. Significant individuals are not only celebrities but role models to many people. Role models are people who others admire and idolize. This builds a form of respect and trust. Moreover, belonging in a shared identity arises emotional factors that aid in promoting. As shared identity provides more confidence since viewing each other in a common social group develops trust it is natural for humans to wish to be a part of it. Similarly, when a significant individual proposes or promotes an idea people show support by sharing their opinion. Especially when that significant figure is one's role model.
