The constant struggle of being unable to find a job is frustrating for any teenager. Fortunately, the solution of decreasing their minimum wage will encourage businesses to hire them. While many argue that any diligent worker deserves minimum wage regardless of age and that some teenagers often need an adequate pay in order to support their family, college fee, and personal life, there are several factors that justify why young people should be paid less than adults. For example, their age limits their abilities in the working environment. In addition, it offers opportunities to gain more experience. This illustrates that teenagers cannot entirely fulfill a job’s requirements, hence, making it fair to pay more to eligible adults. Additionally, a normal teenager does not acquire the same qualities that adults do as they are less experienced. Therefore, a business would obviously choose a more knowledgeable adult rather than an unfamiliar teenager if they are paying them same amount. According to the article, it states, “When employers have to pay everyone the same starting wage, it often makes more sense for them to hire older, more skilled workers instead of teens.” (“Yes” Source A B.B.) Taking this into account, it would be more logical to decrease a teenager’s pay as they have a lower profile and skill level which makes them less effective in a business's perspective.
