Explain Why Thomas Jefferson Should Not Have School

I think Thomas Jefferson should not have a school built for him. Thomas Jefferson was a slave owner and would not be a good role model to the kids that do go to his school. And he took credit for everything his slaves did for him. Thomas Jefferson was also a human trafficker and has done many bad things in his life before he died. Thomas Jefferson also made his slaves build his home so if he did have his own school it would be an act of forced labor against slaves just for other people that are not slaves to go to school.

Thomas Jefferson was a hypocrite by owning 100 and over slaves and was an active member of slave trading. He would buy, sell, or trade over a hundred people. He made love to one of his slaves and promised to set his baby …show more content…

He would whip his son for being sick and if he would not be able to provide any type of labor he would be punished. He also slept with over 600 of his own slaves and took advantage of his power against the poor. And when he died he only set free 5 of his slaves, all males of the Hemmings family. He knew he was not a good person and he knew that he did not make the best decisions but he also should have been punished himself for doing it all.

Thomas Jefferson was big in debt by hundreds of thousands of dollars when he died. He had a lot of financial problems to 40 years of public service. His borrowing to support his lavish lifestyle. With the ups and downs of the plantation agriculture and debt acquired from his father, father in law, and friends. Most of his debt falls into his overzealous spending's.

Thomas Jefferson was a bad role model for anyone when he was alive and no one should have looked up to him because of the bad decisions he made. He did not free the mother of his children but freed all of the children under his will. He put his own kids into hard working labors and treated them like slaves. He didn't pay anyone that he owned and would feed them according to the work they did. He is not a role model to anyone and should not have even been a president.
