A whopping 253,372 animals were killed in addition to the billions of salmon killed due to the Exxon Valdez oil spill. On March 24, 1989 more than 11 million gallons of crude oil was spill in the Prince William Sound of Alaska. As a result of the Exxon Valdez Oil Spill, the United States Government, the Exxon Mobil Corporation, and environmentalists created solutions that have influenced lasting change. All businesses want the best for their company even if it means stretching the truth. After the Exxon Valdez oil spill, Exxon Mobil obviously would go through a lot of problems like any other business would do after a large conflict as tremendous as the Oil spill. Most of the beaches in the surrounding area of the Sound were covered in crude oil left over by the The Exxon Valdez Oil Spill resulted in billions of dollars in clean up cost and billions of dollars worth of the animals were lost due to pollution. An estimated 2,800 sea otters and 300 harbor seals were killed in the immediate aftermath (NOAA). Half of the killer whale population near the area of the Prince William Sound was killed or highly injured.
