Seuss is a very famous and inspiring children’s book writer. Many of his books have an overall moral or lesson that make you think or question life. Did I Ever Tell You How Lucky You Are is narrated by a charter by the name of Duckie that used to visit an old man in the Desert of Drize. The old man sand a song to Duckie about just how lucky he was! This is a great book for all students and all ages that has a great lesson, about no matter how touch your situation is there is always someone who has it worse. I believe it is a great way for teachers to tell their students how lucky they are and how appreciative they should be for the things they have. Lastly I enjoyed how the book used a song throughout the story even though there was no music, the great rhymes just roll right off the tongue. Max is then taken to a land of wild things where they make max the king and he can do as he pleases. Max eventually realizes that this land was lonely and that he wanted to be home with the ones who love him most. Although max is misbehaving throughout the book the message is about long lasting love especially parental love being the best love. The colorful language and the imagination of a different world make this story a wild adventure and fun learning for all readers. The illustrations help the readers to create a mental picture of what these “wild things” might look like the text along with the artwork compliment one another moving the story along nicely.
