Characters Concerns on View of Personality by The Society
In Scott Fitzgerald’s short story, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, the characters are concerned with how someone else will influence society’s view of their persona. One of the main reason for their concern is that they think they will lose their reputation in society. For example, Roger Button worries when “he pictures himself walking through the crowded streets of the city with his appalling apparition stalking by his side” (Fitzgerald 6). He feels shameful because his new born baby is abnormal, which can cause a decline of his family’s reputation in the society.
