FFA is an organization that has considerably made up who I am. It would not be just to leave my FFA experience out of an application. My experience in FFA has shaped part of my high school career through competitions, events, and awards. I have received many awards through FFA that would be important to include on an application. Starting as a freshman I received multiple awards in FFA. I first received my greenhand degree, and most recently I have received my chapter FFA degree. These two awards signify numerous things about me. The degrees show that I am dedicated to the club and that I have completed the necessary steps to receive my degree (completing a Supervised Agriculture Activity, and several other steps.) My degrees also show that I am hard working to go the extra step to receive them. FFA competitions are called CDEs (Career Development Events.) I have competed in poultry judging, creed speaking, parliamentary procedure, prepared public speaking, and food science and technology. I have competed on the state and regional levels for these competitions. Each one of these CDEs have taught me new information that I would have never learned if it wasn’t for FFA. Creed speaking taught me how to recite the FFA creed in front of a panel of judges, expressing it clearly and with motion. Parliamentary procedure taught me how to conduct a business meeting and properly discuss items of business. Poultry and foods both taught me new informations about the food system and poultry in the United States. Prepared public speaking has given me public speaking and interview skills. These events have played part in preparing me for college. I have included each event on my college application because they show more about my personal
