For the past nineteen years, I have lived in a beautiful city in Florida called St. Petersburg. I’ve always called St. Pete my home and plan on moving back after college. Currently, I am a Junior studying, Finance and Real Estate at the Florida State University. After competing those degrees, I plan on applying to the Master in Finance with focus in Real Estate program at FSU. I’m intrigued by the program FSU offers because it should only take me a year to finish. I am a huge Seminole fan, which led me to find my dream college job working for the University. I’m employed by the FSU Foundation and my job tasks include contacting different alumni, friends of the university, and current students to interest them in giving back to the university. …show more content…
I grew up in an active household with two brothers and one sister. Growing up with siblings taught me so much and is an experience that I’m grateful for having. My mother has been involved with the school system her whole life. She started as an elementary school teacher and has since worked her way up to being a principal. She’s been moved around to many different schools and at each school she makes an impact. On the other hand, my father also attended FSU and earned his degrees in Finance and Real Estate. I expect to encounter challenges as well as opportunities that can better my situation. I expect to experience what it’s really like to pay my own bills, and truly live on my own. I’m excited to be able to financially support myself and not rely on my family. After I graduate, I want to succeed in my job and hopefully be presented with opportunities to advance. I expect myself to work hard and earn any promotion that I’m bestowed with. Outside of work, starting a family and purchasing my first home is an opportunity I expect to start thinking about five years after earning my degree. Coming from a big family, I expect to have a couple of kids. I’m excited for these opportunities in the future and use them as motivation to work hard and stay focused in college. Challenges are things I know I’m going to face and they are something that I want to be prepared for. Florida State has an abundance of resources that support students in college and after college. The career center, ACE tutoring center, and career fairs are just some of the resources I have used and will continue to use throughout college. Facing challenges is inevitable and being prepared is the key to facing them successfully. I expect to encounter challenges in the workspace, as well as in my personal life. Having a full support system of family, colleagues, and mentors will allow me to have the confidence to face these challenges
