IT Strategic Plan Part 1 IFSM 301 Alex Kwong BUSINESS STATEMENT The FWDC is a transportation and distribution company that has been in business for over 60 years now. They serve many major cities across the Mid-Atlantic region with headquarters located in Baltimore, Maryland. FWDC currently has 6 distribution terminals that operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week located in Philadelphia PA, Baltimore MD, New York NY, Washington DC, Newark NJ and Wilmington DE which are used for consolidation of freight. FWDC has a total of 500 employees; including truck drivers which operate 100 delivery vehicles that also include 20 tractor/semi-trailer units, 40 box trucks and 40 panel vans. INVENTORY OF CURRENT IT SYSTEMS The inventory of Current IT Systems shows what is currently in place at FWDC and what the system currently does for the company. The chart will also show what strategic goal is planned to align with the current system to make it more efficient and which department it effects. The chart then shows what business benefits will take place once implementing the new goal. Finally, the chart shows which IT resources should be used to complete the goals intended.
