1. I interviewed Quinton Schnier on April 12, 2016 in a face-to-face interview. I felt very comfortable interviewing him. I interviewed Steve Riojas on April 15, 2015 over the telephone. I felt very comfortable interviewing him as well.
2. From these interviews, I learned that face-to-face communication is much more effective than speaking over the phone. In regards to significant relationships, both interviewees talked about their relationships with people who make them want to be better individuals. Both of the interviewees were raised with an authoritative parenting style and it can be seen in Quinton’s life goals and Steve’s current life status that this parenting style has played an enormous role in creating successful, productive individuals. Steve did not have the same opportunities as Quinton currently has in education because he began working right away, however it can be seen that success is still prevalent. Steve was raised in an environment that taught him to find his own successes in every situation, which then proved later in life that success is not only contingent upon education level. It can be seen that both Steve and Quinton were raised in very similar environments regarding parenting style and family style, and they both seem to have similar personalities and end-goals in life because of this. Quinton is currently in the emerging adulthood stage of life. Individuals in this life stage are self-sufficient, make their own decisions, accept full responsibility for all actions, and are financially independent (Baltimore, D., HD FS 102 lecture, 2016, Spring). Steve is currently in the middle adulthood stage of life. Individuals in this life stage are settled into a career and have
