Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens in 1843 where there was a lot of poverty in England. Charles was poor growing up so his dad got sent to prison and Charles got sent to a workhouse. This is a story about a man that changes personalities in a little time. Charles wrote the Christmas Carol to show people to be kind and give to all people no matter what and to also treat the poor as equal.

Throught their differences they show greater similarities. The story about Scrooge is about greed getting the best of you. The story is based around Christmas time arguably the most generous time of the year.
The book and movie version of the story, “A Christmas Carol” are alike, but they are also very different. There are more similarities than there are differences. In my opinion the movie is better than the book. Some people may think otherwise, but I think the movie is better. There are a lot of similarities and differences in the two.
There are many similarities between the book “A Christmas Carol” and its movie counterpart. For instance, both sow Scrooge as the misanthrope, the villain who eventually changes into a more generous man. Furthermore, the dialogue is almost identical. Nonetheless, these two works of art are not completely the same. In the book, Scrooge is constantly shouting, however, in the movie, Ebenezer is cold and quiet, but has an aura of menace around him.

A christmas carol The movie and the play were differences in many ways but, i'm only going to say four one difference from each Act. Number one, in the movie when Mr. Scrooge walked up to his home the door knocker was normal but when he went to go put the key in the door it turned into a ghost. When Mr. Scrooge tried to touch the ghost it started screaming and saying things and Scrooge fell down the stairs. But in the play, they never said anything about the door knocker being a ghost.

Dickens, was one of the authors that were affected by the industrial revolution in good way, because this event helped him as an inspiration to his work and helped him think about his moral values. He used this period in his novel to recreate and portrait the attitude of rich people towards others with necessities. So his goal was to make others think about their moral values again. To take case in point, this novel is about a man called Ebenezer Scrooge, that was a selfish and self-centered person.

This reveals that changing is never impossible until you’re six-feet under. A simile is a comparison that usually uses the word “like” or “as”. Dickens’ use of similes demonstrates how Scrooge changes throughout the story and because of this, we see how changing all aspects of yourself isn’t impossible. “Hard and sharp as flint, from which no steel had ever struck out generous fire; secret, and self- contained, and solitary as an oyster.”
A Christmas Carol Compare and Contrast Mr. Scrooge, Mr. Scrooge such a greedy man. He took and when he gave, it was the smallest amount, so trivial. Why he was such a wicked man it was because he was very, very stingy. Mr. Scrooge was not just stingy, but selfish and hated everything that didn’t deal with him having his money. When he had to pay someone, he hated it he literally hated everything.
