Technology is used in many different ways and can be very dangerous for anyone. Technology can get people addicted, lead to bad things, brainwash people and change a whole country's personality. In “ Taurus 451” the author, Ray Bradbury shows how technology can brainwash people, change people, get them addicted and lead them away from reality. Montag's wife, Mildred, the main character acts strange when it comes to their parlors, their tv’s and she seems more connected with them then Montag. After Montag asked Mildred to turn the parlor off, Mildred answered “That's my family” (Bradbury 46). Mildred is very different from Montag and doesn't seem close to him at all.She's acting like that's her actual family and she would choose them over Montag. …show more content…

Mildred doesn't seem to care that much about Montage compared to the family. Mildred laughs at what is supposed to be such an important moment in life. Mildred is too close to technology and is straying away from her husband. Technology also makes people simpler, more unreal, like Mildred and her friends. Montage wanted to read out a poem but Mrs Phelps said “As for poetry, I hate it” (Bradbury 94). People don't like books and stuff like poetry at this time. She speaks for most people; mostly everyone hates poetry. This explains how technology can change people's opinions and what they think. While talking about the election, Mrs. Bowles explains “You just don't go running a little short man like that against a tall man” (Bradbury 93). The girls act and think very differently from how we act now, they also act similarly. They don't want to vote for the guy just because he is short, it seems like they judge people a lot.
