Ray Bradbury was known as a science fiction writer. He wrote both short stories and novels. Two of his most interesting novels were Fahrenheit 451 and Something Wicked This Way Comes. He inspired readers to “dream, think and create” ( "Ray Bradbury." Raybradbury.com ). Ray Bradbury received many awards throughout his life as a tribute to his great writing abilities.

Raymond Douglas Bradbury was born in 1920 in Illinois. Bradbury was inspired to write by a carnival magician, Mr. Electrico, whom he met in 1932. The magician told him to “Live Forever!” ( "Ray Bradbury." Raybradbury.com ). Bradbury wrote from that day forward. His family moved to California in 1934. Through his intriguing fantasy and horror writings, he received the 2000 National Book Foundation Medal for Distinguished Contribution to American Letters, the 2004 National Medal of Arts and the 2007 Pulitzer Prize Special Citation. Bradbury also earned a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2002. Bradbury married and had four daughters. He died in 2012, leaving behind eight grandchildren. …show more content…

This book explored the themes of censorship, conformity and inner happiness. In the story, Guy Montag begins to realize that through his society he cannot find happiness. Mildred, Guy’s wife, and Clarisse, their seventeen- year old neighbor, help Montag realize he is not happy, and they motivate change in order to help him find happiness. Through questions Clarisse asks, Montag realizes his unhappiness. She once asked, “Are you happy?” to which Montag replied, “Of course I’m happy” ( Bradbury, Ray. Fahrenheit 451 ). After Clarisse asks him this simple question, Bradbury is able to transform Guy’s life
