In Ray Bradbury’s “ Fahrenheit 451, “, The Power of Literature and Knowledge. A novel that explores the consequences of a society where literature and knowledge are suppressed. The three main reasons are the transformation of books, individual enlightenment, and social transformation. The transformation of books, originally books, is shown to be a danger to society. It is a possible harm to human society. Which was the main reason why books were banned and burned by the authorities in Fahrenheit 451. This transformation was not just personal to Montag but was social, as he began to rebel against the whole society. Overall, the transformation of books in “ relentless 451” shows that with a bit of reading from a book, we will always be able to gain something from it no matter how little or big the opportunity is. Individual enlightenment is shown as a character development of awakening one's true self. Characters such as Guy Montag and Clarisse McCellan undergo a serious transformation of individual enlightenment as Montag was a firefighter who burned books for a living without questioning. But experiences a reality check to the forbidden literature, as Montag tries to tell Clarrise about what he has found out. Through the books, Montag had a whole new view of the government and gained curiosity from the books. His journey through enlightenment was shocking to him as he searched for a deeper meaning. Clarisse works as a catalyst for Montag enlightenment, always encouraging him to figure out what he finds fascinating.
