Imagine a world which is almost empty of love, peace, and goodness. A world whose people find it entertaining to drive over animals and humans. People who mindlessly pass day by day without a meaning of life.(122) Such this world is implemented in a dark, but beautiful book, Fahrenheit 451. Guy Montag wept deeply for Clarrise because she had, taken the “mask” from him, which enabled him to emerge from the shadows, and, by doing this, she helped shape his destiny.(9) Throughout this book we can see people who live their lives without asking themselves if they are doing the right thing, or why am I doing this, or what is my life goal. Some characters may conclude that they want to spend their entire lives with their TV. Others to have fun. Montag had been one of these people for many years. He questions everything he was taught and all that he believed. The first time he met her he probably thought there was something different about her.(20) She pushes on to question his job as a fireman, a person who will burn illegal books, houses, and even people. “How did it start? You’re not like the others. When I said something about the moon, you looked at the moon.”(page 21) Later he feels his body divided into two halves, one hot, the other cold. (21) In addition, she asks him a question which will haunt him until he finds the answer, “Are you happy?”(7) As time passes, Montag begins to enjoy his friendship with her. The walks in the evenings where she expels thoughts that he never dreamed about like the smell of cinnamon and the taste of rain.(19)(26)Looking back at his wife who spends her days by watching her “family” on the TV, he feels as if that
