Allowing them to be enclosed in the world of television and the internet because it is easy and there is no thought involved. The final and arguably most important topic addressed in Bradbury’s novel Fahrenheit 451 is the right to carry out actions. Today society has adopted a “Cancel Culture”. Society has become engrossed in insecurity, allowing people in all political parties and ways of life to adopt fear over thought. Bradbury writes “‘That’s the good part about dying; when you have nothing to lose, you run any risk you want’” (81). Society is so fearful of judgment and making a single mistake, that many see death as the only way out. While Faber is talking to Montag in the novel, he says “‘The whole culture shot through. The skeleton needs melting and reshaping’” (Bradbury 83). Political views have become the basis of judgment for everything in today’s society. The only way that seems possible nowadays is a complete reboot. These points and many more should suffice for the argument that Fahrenheit 451 remains relevant.
